PAUL JUSTENSTATEMENT As a child I would daydream about what life would be like in the future. Much of my education in life has been derived from direct observations of nature. Due to reading disabilities as a child I would spend countless hours paging through books just looking at pictures and trying to figure out how the universe worked. I was captivated by illustrations of dinosaurs, rocket ships, future cars, and anything relating to science. To me XrE*al represents an alternate universe or reality that I am comfortable existing in from time to time. My journeys into the realm of the XrE*al are probably a direct result of my fascination of the future and all it’s possibilities.Creating Art is the ultimate great escape. My paintings of outer space represent my passion for science and alternate realities that might exist in another part of our universe.
