ARTIST STATEMENT:
I am drawn to using repetitive elements and shape in my work, seeking to achieve depth through the use of flat pattern and texture. I use a very organic combination of mathematical principles, historical, ethnic and sound patterns, as well as quilt elements to help achieve this result. I call this my ‘personal geometry.’ The underlying theme of my work is to explore the often conflicted relationship I and other people have with the environment and the resulting disconnect with our core selves.
